Our Background

Liza Mae Ponteras Marañon always dreamed of traveling the world since she was a little girl. And that made her decide before finishing high school to take BS Tourism – major in Travel & Tour Operations Management. She enjoyed her college days because her course exposed her to many people, travels, and situations. Plus her dancing scholarship made her to work hard and be able to learn an effective multitasking because of doing it while studying.

After college, she worked as a supervisor of her professor’s travel & tour agency. She then later realised that she could grow in this industry by working in a bigger company. Liza got a free basic call center training in the city on 2012 and she finished it greatly. She was the only one that got endorsed to work in now Teleperformance previously Aegis People Support and she was appointed to work in Expedia US account – the biggest online travel agency in the world. Her training took a month and she was endorsed to the operations. She was first appointed as a hotel specialist, then proficient, became a travel expert, and a mentor. Her two year stay with Expedia US was for her enough to start her own Travel & Tour business.

She finally started the planning of her own I-Travel and Tour Panglao on 2015. It was a struggle for her at first because she did not have enough money to start running the business. She did not have a choice to find an investor and she was lucky to find one. I-Travel and Tour Panglao was her dream but she had to let it go for some personal differences between the partner.

She knows what she wants from the very beginning and she never gave up on having her own Travel & Tour Agency. In just few days, she started the Alona Tourist Services on June 6, 2017 to continue her dream. And until now, she’s doing everything she could to make her business grow with the full support of her husband Timo – business adviser and her hardworking staffs.
